I took this time lapse video between February 2020 and July 2021. Focused on Astro, Milky Way and Moon landscape views in the Alps. Finding windless nights for the star reflections in the water was not an easy thing to do. It took me many sleepless nights but I think it was worth it. The video was recorded in the Alps, mostly in Central Switzerland and Bernese Oberland.

This is a collection of aerial views taken as a drone hyperlapse at night between summer 2019 and spring 2020. Focused on city lights shining through the moving fog and clouds. It took me a total of 153 drone flights and 45 hours flight time to get the final result. Zug is a small business city in central Switzerland. It is also known as "Crypto Valley". It's located next to a small mountain (Zugerberg) from where I could start and land my drone safe.

This is not part of my personal "Sleepless in" night time lapse serie. Instead it is some time lapse footage I took for the Pilatus-Bahnen AG last year. It can be seen on big flat screens on different station of the cableway and cogwheel railway as well as in multiple online videos.

I did this winter Alps drone hyperlapse shots while waiting for snow in the city of Zug. As I planed a snow scene in my next project "Sleepless in Zug". I was waiting and waiting and in the meantime I got more and more Alps video footage. At this point I have decided to publish a winter Alps video which is not part of my "Sleeples in" serie.

Jump from tower to tower in New York City and enjoy the beautiful Manhattan skyline at night. This is my third “Sleeplessin” time lapse, showing the great city of New York at night. I traveled two times to New York City for a total of 6 weeks and was shooting in the streets for 28 evenings and 14 mornings producing 3.5 TB data and 33'420 photos. During that time I ate 29 slices of pizza and spent USD 240 for the subway.

In meinem zweiten “Sleepless” Time Lapse (Zeitraffer 4K) zeige ich die Stadt Luzern bei Nacht und Dämmerung. Der Weg führt von der Museggmauer über den Männliturm direkt auf den Pilatus und von da auf das Schiff zurück zum KKL. Nach verschiedenen weiteren Stationen in der Stadt Luzern endet die Time Lapse beim Löwendenkmal. Für die Aufnahmen bin ich zwischen November 2017 und März 2018 total 19 mal nach Luzern gefahren. Dabei habe ich 54 Stunden in den nächtlichen Strassen der Stadt verbracht und ein vielfaches am Computer für die Bearbeitung. Es sind 2.75 TB Daten, 20'000 Fotos und 231 CHF Parkkosten Entstanden.

In dieser ersten "Sleeplessin" Time Lapse (Zeitraffer) zeige ich die rotierende nächtliche Landschaft der Schweiz in Bezug zur Milchstrasse. Von Februar bis August 2017 habe ich 15 Orte in der Schweiz besucht und konnte trotz vielen Fehlschlägen (Wetter, Technik, menschliches Versagen) spektakuläre Alpen Aufnahmen produzieren. Ich habe 17 Nächte durchgemacht und über 200 Stunden am Computer nachbearbeitet. Während diesem Projekt haben sich 2 TB Daten und über 30'000 Fotos angesammelt.

Bei der Produktion meiner Milchstrassen Time Lapse (Zeitraffer) mache ich alle 30 Sekunden ein Bild und belichte dieses 25 Sekunden lang. Den ISO Wert setze ich so hoch wie es vom Bild-Rauschen her gerade noch akzeptabel ist. Auch die Blende öffne ich so weit wie möglich. Zudem braucht es eine möglichst mondlose klare Nacht, einen freien Horizont gegen Süd-West bis Süd-Ost (gilt für die Schweiz und die Alpen) und einen besonders attraktiven Vordergrund.

Hier sind einge Fotos aus der Time Lapse "Sleepless in Switzerland" zu sehen. Die Bilder sind bis 8K im RAW Format vorhanden und können lizenziert oder als Drucke auf hochwertigen Alu Dibond Platten bestellt werden. Die Drucke werden von einer Druckerei in der Schweiz produziert und innert wenigen Tagen geliefert. Bei Interesse kann das Bildmaterial noch zusätzlich optimiert werden. Einzelne Fotos können besser und einfacher bearbeitet werden als ganze Time Lapse Sequenzen.
